Doctor Biography

Dr. Ishtiaque Anwar is a fellowship trained Cataract, Refractive and Glaucoma Surgeon.

He did his Post Graduate Degree FCPS from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. His Cataract and Refractive Surgery fellowship is from Iladevi Cataract & IOL Center, India where he had the opportunity to work under Dr. Abhay Vasavada, one of the pioneers in this field. Then he had the opportunity to do his Glaucoma training and International Observer ship from Aravind Eye Hospital and New York Eye Infirmary.

He is a Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) accredited LASIK surgeon. He is performing LASIK with the latest EX 500 (Alcon), VisuMax and MEL 90 (Carl Zeiss) machines.

He has performed Live Cataract and Refractive surgeries in Conferences with premium IOLs like Toric IOL, Trifocal IOL, Extended Depth of Focus IOL and 3D Microscope. He is invited in different international and regional conference as speaker.

He has publications in national and international journals. He was associated with research of medications for USFDA approval.

Interests: Practice of new technologies in Ophthalmology, education and community outreach programs. He has special interest in teaching. He is the trainer of Glaucoma Fellowship and Phacoemulsification in Bangladesh Eye Hospital & Institute. But his special interest is in managing complex Cataract and Glaucoma cases.
